A BlogWhore is a girl or women who is extremely passionate about blogging.
On a daily basis you can find her either reading blogs or writing in her own blog. She lives and breaths blogs & blogging. From the moment she wakes up to the time she goes to bed, she is dreaming up new blog posts, reading endless posts & columns, thinking of new ideas on how to be unique and she more than likely thinks in terms of
blog copy. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then you are not yet a true BlogWhore...
but it will happen!

Gala Darling has been a HUGE inspiration to me (and millions!) since the day I found her lovely blog. She is one of the biggest bloggers in the world; meeting celebrities and writing for big time magazines (hello COSMO & JANE!) and she made it all happen by guest what? BLOGGING! Her style is uber unique and her writing is relatable. If you've never heard of her you will be happy I've introduced you! You will be instantly addicted! She is definitely, in my mind, one of the original BlogWhores!
A BlogWhore wants to be the BEST women she can be.
She wants to enrich her life with culture, style and a unique point of view. She wants to improve upon the many aspects of her life, career, relationships, and her creative side. A BlogWhore thrives on PASSION. Passion for LIFE (& blogging!).
BlogWhore is not a derogatory term.
BlogWhore is a term of endearment.
According to Urban Dictionary...
Blogwhore - A person (usually young) who participates in all or most of the following:
1. Spending large amounts of time posting entries on his/her blog (usually a blogspot or wordpress blog) about things no one other than them cares about.
2. Tries any way possible to get others to read his/her blog.
3. Posts comments on every blog he/she comes across in hopes that other bloggers will find and comment on his/her blog.
4. Uses their blog to advance other areas of his/her life, such as relationships, positions in work, social status, or anything else.
Now, Urban Dictionary didn't completely get this one wrong... there is some truth to this definition!
Please allow me to elaborate on the above...
1. Yes, we do spend large amounts of time posting entries in our blogs... but I do believe that a LOT of people care about what we are posting! BlogWhores has MILLIONS of followers who read their blogs everyday! Yeah, that really sounds like no one cares about what they have to say... *sarcasm*
2. Blogging is tough work! Of course we want others to read our blogs!
3. This one is called "blogwhoring", which is in no way a bad thing! Since we are indeed BlogWhores who are OBSESSED with blogs, of course we comment on other blogs! And why wouldn't we want others to comment on our blogs as well? Now, we don't comment on EVERY blog that comes along our path, only the ones that we really want to add our voice to. I actually only comment on a handful of blogs, and rarely at that!
4. OF COURSE we use our blogs to advance other areas of our lives. That is WHY we blog, isn't it? To enrich our lives? To document our stories? To share what we know?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course... I just wanted to share what a BlogWhore meant to me. I'm happy I've been able to take a term that was not necessarily a good one and make it into a celebratory term! I want you to be proud to call yourself a BlogWhore!
I hope you've enjoyed learning what a BlogWhore is today... It's been fun telling you all about it! How do you feel about the term? Do you love it? Hate it? I'd love to know!
